About the what's my ip?

A VPN, proxy or shared network can affect the reported address and location. Location data is approximate, and results depend on the availability of the external lookup provider.

See the public address visible to the lookup provider

A device on a home, office or mobile network can have a local address that differs from the public address seen by an external service. ADJODO What Is My IP queries its listed external lookup service to display the public address visible from that connection. Use it when investigating a network change, a VPN session or an access workflow that needs a current public address.

Begin with the connection you actually want to inspect. A result obtained before switching networks does not describe the new session automatically. The reported address is information from the lookup request, not a complete map of your network and not proof of the identity of the person using that connection.

Choose an address-only or location-assisted lookup

Select the supported lookup mode according to your task. Address-only inspection is appropriate when you need the visible IP value, while the optional location mode requests additional approximate information from the provider. Run the lookup and inspect any error rather than inventing a location when the provider is unavailable. If a VPN or proxy is active, note it alongside the result because it can affect the address and associated location seen externally.

Keep the time and connection context when sharing a diagnostic value. A browser request can reach a provider under current network conditions that differ from another device's conditions. The result should therefore be treated as a particular lookup, not as a permanent property of your machine or account.

Compare network changes with controlled observations

If you are troubleshooting a change, record the first result, deliberately switch the relevant connection and run the lookup again. Compare the visible address while keeping unrelated settings as consistent as possible. A shared connection can present several devices through one public address, while a service can use different addressing behavior across sessions. Do not infer a physical device's identity solely from the IP string.

For an access configuration, use the verified value through the authorized administration process rather than changing permissions based on an unexplained screenshot. Keep the original observation and the intended configuration separate. A lookup helps provide a current network clue, but it does not confirm that an allowlist rule or another system's connection path is already correct.

Read approximate location conservatively

Location associated with an IP address is not an exact location of a person or a household. It can reflect the provider's network information and can be affected by VPNs, proxies or shared infrastructure. Do not use it to identify an individual or establish that someone is present at a particular address. External services can also become unavailable, apply rate limits or return incomplete information.

An explicit failure is more honest than a substituted guess. Keep diagnostic addresses out of broad public posts when they do not need to be shared. The page does not audit your network's security or replace the connection information used by a separate application. Its useful role is to report provider-supplied address data and, when requested, clearly qualified approximate location information for the current lookup.

Keep a report focused on the network question

When contacting authorized support, explain the action that failed, the time and whether the connection or VPN changed. Share the IP value only through the channel appropriate to that investigation. A screenshot of a location by itself does not explain an access error. Context lets the support team compare the observed network address with the relevant system record without treating approximate geography as a verified account detail.
