About the text to slug

Review the generated slug before adding it to your website. A readable path helps describe a page, but changing an existing URL also requires a redirect.

Turn a heading into an address people can read

A slug is the identifying part of a page address, such as a short path for an article or product. Start with the actual subject of the page rather than a list of keywords you hope to rank for. For a heading about repairing a leaking kitchen tap, the most useful slug names that task directly. Words that only introduce the article often add length without helping someone recognize its destination.

ADJODO Text to Slug gives you a starting point from the heading you supply. Review it as a label that may appear in bookmarks, messages and search results. The aim is a recognizable address that still makes sense when someone sees it without the surrounding page title.

Prepare the text before converting it

Paste one intended page heading into the input box. Keep product numbers or other distinguishing details when they genuinely identify the destination, and remove draft comments that should not become public. A heading copied from a document can contain line breaks, unusual punctuation or extra spaces. Look at the source before running the conversion so those accidental details do not influence your choice.

After generating the result, compare it with the original title and decide whether the shortened wording still describes the same page. For multilingual titles, check the resulting characters in the system that will store the URL. The conversion does not know your CMS rules, naming conventions or the paths that have already been used elsewhere on your website.

Choose a durable slug for publishing

An address can outlive the campaign or promotion that first introduced a page. Avoid putting a temporary offer in a permanent product path unless the page is specifically about that offer. Two articles with similar headings may need different slugs because they cover different tasks, models or audiences. Check your page list before assigning the output so you do not accidentally overwrite an existing route.

Read the slug aloud and ask whether a colleague could identify the topic from it. Once the page is published, keep a record of the chosen path with the page title. If the title is later improved, an immediate URL change is not always necessary; consider the links and bookmarks that already point to the original address.

Handle an existing address with care

This tool changes text; it does not publish a page, reserve a path or redirect visitors. When replacing an established URL, arrange a permanent redirect in your website configuration and update relevant internal links. Check that the new destination opens successfully and that the old address reaches it without unnecessary intermediate redirects. Canonical tags and sitemap entries should describe the address you intend to retain.

You can use the separate Redirect Checker to inspect the route after deployment. Keep slug changes separate from changes to the page's purpose so you can diagnose problems clearly. A readable path supports understandable navigation, but it cannot compensate for a page whose title, content and destination do not match the subject promised by the link.
